We learned in science that heat rises and expands. To prove heat rises we did a little experiment. We took two cups and filled one with hot water and the other with cold water. Mrs.Bowen put red food color in the cup with warm water. Then she put a piece of card board between the two cups holding the cup with hot water on the bottom and the cold water on top and asked us if when we pulled the cardboard piece out would the cold water drop down to the cup with hot water or would the hot water go up to the cup with cold water. When she pulled the piece of cardboard out from in-between the two cups since heat rises the hot water rose to the cup with cold water in it to prove that heat rises.
